What a pleasant surprise this week when a close friend of LIz gifted us with a large bag of her own home grown produce from their garden. The mom omens I saw these lovely garlic scapes I was pleasantly surprised. I’m intrigued and perturbed all at the same time since I admittedly have never prepared these before. This kind of mystery gets my culinary attention, encouraging me to learn more about an ingredient, it’s history, etc.
Of course I had to try this raw before exploring, and what a lovely combination indeed … like green onions and garlic all mixed together in a milder version of both. I can’t wait to make something nice with these, more to follow!
