  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 2 cups Basmati Rice
  • 3 cups Warm Water


  • Heat a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat
  • Add olive oil to the Dutch oven
  • Add cumin seeds & cinnamon stick to the hot oil and simmer for 30 seconds
  • Add rice to the Dutch oven and cook for 5 minutes, stirring frequently
  • As soon as the rice begins to show signs of browning slightly, slowly add the 3 cups of warm water
  • Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes
  • Discard the cinnamon stick and serve immediately or refrigerate as needed
