Chinese Siu Mai Dumpling Recipe

Filling Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound Ground Pork
  • 1/4 pound Raw Shrimp, peeled, deveined, rinsed & finely chopped
  • 2 (1 ounce) Shiitake Mushroom, stems removed, finely chopped
  • 1 /2 inch Fresh Ginger, peeled & finely chopped
  • 1 Shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp White Wine
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 tsp Fine Sea Salt
  • Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 24 to 30 Dumpling Wrappers


  • Add all filling ingredients to a mixing bowl and combine well
  • Place 1/2 tbsp of filling in the center of each dumpling wrapper, then form the sides around leaving the top exposed
  • Steam the dumplings for 10 minutes
  • Garnish with finely chopped green onions or fish roe
  • Serve with various Asian dipping sauces like Organic Soy Sauce or Chinese Sweet Chili Dipping Sauce
